Denpasar, 16/5 (Atnews) – Thousands of Balinese people attended the fifth International Yoga Day at Puputan Margarana Square, Niti Mandala Renon, Denpasar. Yoga makes individuals better at thinking, saying and acting in using knowledge.
“The importance of yoga in alleviating health problems and reducing stress can be trained regularly,” said Indian Consul General, RO Sunil Babu, in Denpasar, on Sunday (Jun. 16).
The event was organized by the Indian Consulate General in Bali in collaboration with the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center (SVCC) Bali. It was lead by SCVV yoga teacher Sanjay Kumar Choudary along with one of SCVV students Prasanthy Devi Meheswari and I Gusti Raka Panji Tisna from the Art of Living. The International Yoga Day is an initiative of Prime Minister (PM) India Narendra Modi proposed in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on September 27, 2014.
For this reason, the International Yoga Day was established on June 21, supported by 175 countries, including Indonesia. Meanwhile, the United Nations issued a resolution supported by 193 countries on December 11, 2014.
Amid the video screening on the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned that Yoga is one of the most valuable ancient Indian heritages is given to mankind. It is also set forth in the scripture Bhagavad-Gita as Samatvan Yoga Uchyate which means the balance and peace of mind is Yoga.
In the meantime, the Head of Social Service, Dewa Made Mahendra Putra, supported the event because it will strengthen Balinese human resources (HR) that is line with the vision and mission of governor of Bali known as the Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali to be attaining physical and psychical welfare.  
The effort is also attempted in maintaining Balinese taksu or divine vibration exuding positive vibrations to the world. “Yoga will have a health impact as well as self-control,” he said.
The enthusiasm of Balinese people is getting better at following and practicing yoga regularly. (ART/02)
