Denpasar, 19/8 (Atnews) - President of the World Hindu Parishad (WHP), Dr. I Made Mangku Pastika, will collaborate with the Indian government to increase tourist arrivals from the Pandavas country to the Island of the Gods.
“Bali (Indonesia) relations with India are very close emotionally and historically,” said Pastika in Denpasar on Monday (Aug. 19).
This was conveyed when he received the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste, Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Consul General of India in Bali, RO Sunil Babu, as well as Chairperson of the Nawa Cita of Indonesian Tourism (NCPI), Dr. Gusti Kade Sutawa.
To that end, his organization involves the Indonesian tourism community in taking the Indian market having a large potential population of more than 1 billion people. Thus, the meeting can strengthen the unity and brotherhood of Indonesia (Bali) and India.
Due to having the same culture, especially for adherents of Hinduism (Sanata Dharma) in accordance with the knowledge of the Vedic scriptures, he is more optimistic about the arrival of Indian tourists to Bali because it will open Bali-India direct flights next October.
In addition to tourism cooperation, it was also discussed about the increase in education chiefly in advancing human resources (HR). This was in support of the implementation of the 74th anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day, namely ‘Excellent Human Resources, Advanced Indonesia.’
According to him, India is very advanced, especially in the field of education like in the field of technology. Indians are experts in technology (IT) and the country has numerous graduates studying overseas. They predominantly work in technology companies belonging to world-renowned brands.
Moreover, India is famous for the health science of Ayurveda sourcing from the aspects of Hinduism, namely the ayurvedic scriptures.
For this reason, his party will also explain the WHP’s presence in several campuses in India next September as well as visit several places such as Hrishikesha, Orissa, Uttarakand, New Delhi and Akshardam Temple.
Meanwhile, Indian Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste, Pradeep Kumar Rawat, supported all the ideas in strengthening relations between the two countries. On that occasion, he agreed to strengthen Balinese human resources because there are no natural resources as source of regional income. (ART/atm)
