Two Entrances Prone to Drugs, Head of BNN Heru Has Gilimanuk Installed with Detector

DENPASAR, 14.5 (Atnews) - The Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Heru Winarko, stated that Bali has two vulnerable entrances as drug traffic routes.
The two vulnerable entrances are the Ngurah Rai International Airport and Gilimanuk Harbor. “For this reason, his party requested the two lines to be monitored, if possible, to be installed with door detector at Gilimanuk Harbor,” Heru said in Denpasar, Tuesday (May 14).
This was conveyed after the signing of the Memory of Understanding (MoU) between the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and Udayana University (Unud) and the Signing of the Anti-Narcotics Exhibition by the Head of the Indonesia National Narcotics Agency, Governor of Bali and regents and mayor across Bali.
On that occasion were present the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, and the Chancellor of the Udayana University, Prof. A.A. Raka Sudewi. He said that his party would carry out further coordination with PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero).
This effort is meant to suppress drug trafficking into Bali because it is a tourist destination. Meanwhile, Bali has three tourist destinations where narcotics are still circulating, namely the Kedonganan, Seminyak and Beraban.
“The areas must be taken seriously. Moreover, the Bali Police Chief is so intensive in fighting against drugs,” he said.
In addition, Ngurah Rai International Airport is requested to always update its drug prevention technology. “The airport indeed has been good, but the development must be updated,” he concluded. (ART/ika)
